The new Test and Refill Devices PNG-1 and PNG-3 from AFRISO-EURO-INDEX, in conjunction with a vessel filling liquid, facilitate a simple and rapid increase of the pressure cushion in diaphragm expansion vessels (MAG) of heating and oil supply systems. Invariably due to lack of proper maintenance the primary pressure of the MAG is often adjusted either too high or too low so that maintaining of a steady system pressure is not possible.To maintain a reliable pressure is, however, a basic requirement for a preserving and trouble-free operation of heating systems.
The refill sets PNG-1 (0/4 bar) and PNG-3 (0/10 bar) consist of a test pressure gauge (Accuracy class 1,6) and a 60 cm long flexible filling hose with a cap nut Vg8 at one end for the test valve at the expansion vessel and, at the other end, a ball valve with a 7/16-28 UNEF thread for the refill bottle, the contents of which also contains a non-inflammable anti-corrosion agent.
Too low a pressure in the expansion vessel can cause malfunction of the entire system with air ingress problems, continuous feed and increased wear and tear. Properly sized and adjusted, the MAG prevents formation of steam, cavitation, suction and ingress of external air and water loss by operating the safety valve. Diaphragm type expansion vessels form part of the technical safety equipment in warm water heating systems and must be serviced annually according to DIN EN 12828.
